What is Therapeutic Touch?

Therapeutic Touch is a natural power that all humans have. Humans were born with this power, and use it quite naturally for helping injured people. Mothers have always used this technique to help her child when the child is hurt.

The healing force of the therapist can affect the patient’s recovery. With this system, healing is promoted when the energies within the body are in balance. A therapeutic touch therapist can identify energy imbalances by passing their hands over the patient.

This technique is accepted and used by nurses in the US and Europe. In the US, it is included in the official university program of nursing.

This technique can be used with immature babies, newborn infants, patients before or after a surgical procedure, as well as terminal patients. It is effective for all ages and symptoms.

If you doubt this technique, you should try once. Seeing is believing. Also, “The Little Prince” said,

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Dame Helen Keller has said the same thing.

The most wonderful thing in the world,

The most beautiful things in the world

You can't see it with your eyes or touch it with your hands.

You have to feel it with your heart.

One of the techniques to feel the invisible "qi" is therapeutic touch.

Pros

  • Therapeutic touch allows the practitioner to identify energy blockage without the need to touch the patient's body. The process can also detect weak points within the body, sometimes identifying underlying issues the patient is not aware of.
  • This process is especially reassuring for those who do not like being touched by strangers.

Cons

  • None. It is a different approach to identifying and treating problems or ailments within the body and for some people it is a bit disconcerting at first.
